A man from Red Bluff was killed in a head on crash with a big rig very early Saturday morning. At around 12:40AM the unidentified driver of a 2008 Ford was northbound on Highway 99 north of Cone Grove Road between Red Bluff and Dairyville when he decided to pass the car in front of him. He pulled into the southbound lane but ran out of room and the left front of his pickup collided head-on with the left front of a Freightliner big rig driven by Bonnie Eule of Chico. She was not injured but the Red Bluff man was killed. The CHP is investigating whether alcohol was a factor.
