Fire Destroys Chicken Coop In East Redding

Some poultry perished in a fire in East Redding Tuesday night. At around 6:30PM, Redding Fire Department was called to Cascade Drive off Oxford. Somehow a fire had started in a 10 by 20 foot chicken coop. It burned up, along with part of a fence, and the flames climbed up into some Oak Trees. Neighbors were able to knock down the fire. The residents were not there. The cause is under investigation. It’s not known how many chickens died.
