COVID Case Rate Increases In Shasta County

Shasta County remains solidly in the red tier, with the case rate increasing this week from 7.5 to 8.7 daily cases per 100,000 residents. Public health says that throughout the pandemic, an increased case rate has been followed by increased hospitalizations and deaths.

 

26 Shasta County residents have died from Covid. Another 38 cases have been confirmed from Sunday and Monday, as well as 444 negative tests. There have been 12,148 cases so far. An estimated 188 people have the virus right now, 9 people are hospitalized and 4 are in intensive care.

 

Vaccines are plentiful and free of charge. They’re about 90% effective and no vaccinated person in Shasta County has died from COVID-19. Tehama County has reported 5,572 cases and 59 deaths.
There have been 400 cases and 5 deaths in Trinity County.
2,216 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 23 deaths.
Butte County has reported 182 deaths among their 11,796 cases.
Lassen County has had 22 deaths among their 2,108 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,593 cases in prison.
Humboldt County has had 3,984 cases and 40 deaths.
Modoc County has had 498 cases and 5 deaths.
