Siskiyou County Sheriff Warns Residents Against Helping Illegal Cannabis Growers

The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office is warning businesses not to help pot growers. The county prohibits any cannabis growing beyond the six plants that every adult Californian is allowed to grow in their home. Most of the illegal growing in Siskiyou County is in remote areas where goods and services have to be delivered, including water in many cases. The sheriff’s office is saying that anyone who delivers anything to what they know is an illegal cultivation can be charged as an accessory. The statement released on the department’s Facebook Page even states that growing pot is a violation of unfair business practices. Another statement was posted the next day clarifying that they’re only addressing deliveries, and in no way want to curtail over the counter sales of goods at stores.
