Road Through Lassen Park Opens To Vehicle Traffic

The road through Lassen Volcanic National Park has opened to through traffic after the clearing of snow and winter debris, which was a quick process this year due to a lower than average snowpack. Summertime at Lassen Park means hiking trails, aquatic activities at Manzanita Lake, camping at the various campgrounds, and the opening of the Kohm Yah-Mah-Nee Visitor Center and the Loomis Museum. Last year the park saw a record high 542,000 visitors, despite a two-month closure due to the pandemic. Information on events and conditions at the park can be found at nps.gov/lavo.
