RPD: Transient Arrested After Break In At Cannabis Store

A homeless man accused of breaking into a Redding cannabis store Monday night was found Tuesday morning sitting on someone’s porch less than a mile away, according to Redding Police. Just before 9:30PM Monday, officers responded for a burglar alarm at Synergy on Hemsted Drive. The front glass door had been shattered, but the thief had already fled. The manager arrived and showed police the surveillance footage, which clearly showed a man break the glass with a hatchet before stealing cannabis products from a display case. At 9 O’clock Tuesday morning 39-year-old Ryan Sullivan was found sitting in a chair on the front porch of a house on Duane Avenue. He was recognized from the surveillance footage, was still wearing the same clothing, and reportedly had products from Synergy in his pockets. After being interviewed by detectives, Sullivan was booked into jail. Some of the stolen goods remain missing.
