CHP Writes 87 Citations During Enforcement Period

The California Highway Patrol brought the hammer down on Interstate Five in Shasta and Tehama Counties. Calling it a “Major Corridor Enhanced Primary Collision Factor Enforcement Campaign”, the CHP focused enforcement on that stretch of freeway between 6AM and 6PM on Wednesday. 87 citations were issued during that 12 hours, including 82 for unsafe speed. The others were for distracted driving, unsafe lane changes, unsafe turning and seatbelt violations. One DUI arrest was made.
