The Shasta County Coroners Office has identified a bicyclist who was killed this week by a hit-and-run driver in West Cottonwood as 65-year-old Michael Don Strausbaugh of Anderson. Strausbaugh, who went by the nickname “Micky”, was riding a bicycle on Gas Point Road near Happy Valley Road when he was struck and killed. He was found deceased at 11:05AM Tuesday. Information provided by the public led to an arrest the following day of 26-year-old Victoria McDaniel of Cottonwood. The CHP says she was driving a red Dodge Ram 3500. She was booked into jail for felony hit-and-run and misdemeanor manslaughter. “Micky” Strausbaugh’s family has been notified.
