Crews To Burn 188 Acres In Tehama County

A controlled burn is planned to start Tuesday evening in Eastern Tehama County. Cal-Fire and the Bureau of Land Management are torching 188 acres of dry grass and weeds along Highway 36 from Stice Road to the Paynes Creek Bridge. The purpose is to reduce fuels for roadside fires, and to provide live training for firefighters. The burn is set to begin at 6 O’clock Tuesday evening and be completed at 4AM Thursday.
