Redding Fire Department responded to two simultaneous vegetation fires Thursday afternoon. One fire broke out from a homeless camp in the Lost Lane Canyon off Lake Boulveard and Masonic, and forced the evacuation of some apartments. It was contained at around 2 acres. The other fire was off Twin View near the Ramada Inn. Both fires are under investigation. There have been countless fires that started over the years from homeless camps in the Lost Lane area. The Twin View fire may have been started by someone welding in the Ramada Inn parking lot.
