State Reopens Tuesday, Most COVID-19 Restrictions Will Ease

Governor Newsom has signed an executive order that will lift most of the state’s coronavirus rules. The order Newsom signed Friday takes effect Tuesday. It will end the state’s stay-at-home order and its various amendments. There will be no capacity limits or physical distancing requirements for businesses. Fully vaccinated people can stop wearing masks in most places.

232 Shasta County residents have been killed by covid. Another 21 cases reported from Thursday a total so far of 12,580 confirmed cases. There were also 613 negative tests. An estimated 127 people have the virus right now; 15 are hospitalized and 5 are in intensive care. 97 people in Shasta County have tested positive for variants. Two have been hospitalized and one died.

32.8% of Shasta County residents are fully vaccinated.

Covid vaccines are free, safe and have been tested hundreds of millions of times. Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is very easy on a walk-in basis with no wait, or by appointment at myturn.ca.gov. Many options can be found at shastaready.org.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is available at a free clinic at Win-River Casino Tuesday from 1:30PM to 4:30PM. They’ll even give out $100 free slot play to those who get vaccinated. Another clinic will be held next Tuesday. An appointment form can be found at winriver.com.

There have been 416 cases and 5 deaths in Trinity County.
2,386 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 37 deaths.
Butte County has reported 192 deaths among their 12,152 cases.
Lassen County has had 22 deaths among their 2,166 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,609 cases in prison.
Humboldt County has had 4,415 cases and 46 deaths.
Modoc County has had 539 cases and 4 deaths.
