Fire Burning In Tehama County Wildlife Refuge No 40% Contained

A fire south of Red Bluff has grown to 160 acres, and was 40% contained at last word. The Dairy Fire started near East Canal Road and Tyler Road, then spread into the Sacramento River National Wildlife Refuge. It’s being managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, with the firefighting being done by Cal-Fire and U.S. Forest Service crews. It’s burning in thick brush and trees between the river and orchardlands. No structures are threatened. The fire may have been caused by an escaped debris burn on private property.
