Forward progress has been stopped on the Rock Fire west of Old Shasta. The fire started around 4 O’clock Tuesday afternoon near Benson Drive and Rock Creek Road in an area that was just starting to recover from being devastated in the 2018 Carr Fire. No structures were ever threatened by the Rock Fire and no evacuations were ordered. At last word it was 108 acres and 65% contained. The cause is not known, but a cluster of vehicles was seen near the point of origin.
