RPD: Woman Arrested After Refusing To Leave RABA Bus

A frequently-arrested woman was taken into custody by Redding Police on Saturday after refusing to get out of a bus. At 11AM officers were called to the RABA maintenance yard off South Market Street. 23-year-old Savannah Challe had apparently broken into a parked bus and was refusing to leave. While officers were on the way they were told that Challe had armed herself with a knife and was threatening RABA staff. When officers arrived she was upset and yelling but they negotiated with her and safely took her into custody. Since January there have been 40 calls generated for Challe, and she’s been arrested more than 20 of those times. She’s on probation for a weapon offense. In May she jumped up and down on an RPD car, causing significant damage.
