Helicopters Removing Hazardous Trees Will Cause Lengthy Delays On Highway 36

Anyone planning to drive Highway 36 in Trinity County this weekend will want to plan their trip around some extended closures. Helicopters will be in the Forest Glen area removing hazard trees from the August Complex fire. Trees on upper slopes are in danger of sliding down onto the highway, and helicopters have been deemed to be the safest way of dealing with them. Between South Fork Mountain Road and Forest Glen, delays of two hours can be expected both Saturday and Sunday from 6AM to 11AM and from 1PM to 4PM.
