Motorcyclist Killed On Cypress Avenue After Crashing Into Delivery Truck

A motorcyclist died after a fiery crash on East Cypress Avenue Thursday afternoon. Just after 2 O’clock near the intersection of East Cypress and Bechelli lane a 66-year-old Redding man slid underneath a Penske box truck and his motorcycle burst into flames. The delivery truck driver pulled into the Redding Subaru parking lot as other drivers extinguished the fire that had fully engulfed the motorcycle and rider. He later succumbed to his injuries. The truck was seized as evidence as the load of 900 catalytic convertors was considered suspicious. Cypress Avenue was closed for several hours.
