Arraignment For Murder Suspect Delayed Until After 4th Of July Holiday

A Redding man suspected in the stabbing death of a man in far Northeastern Shasta County has had his court proceedings delayed. On Monday of last week, deputies sent to a home in the tiny Community of Dana found Neilon Welch of Fall River Mills on the floor dead. 29-year-old Richard Lee Duvall the Second was arrested Thursday at a Redding homeless camp. He appeared in court Monday afternoon, but his arraignment was continued until July 7th. Duvall is charged with murder, use of a deadly weapon and having a prior strike conviction. He remains jailed on a Million Dollars bail.
