A construction worker has been severely injured by a woman who made a wrong turn in Downtown Redding. At 1:33PM Monday afternoon a 39-year-old woman from Anderson stopped at the light on Yuba Street at California Street and when the light turned green she turned left, the wrong way on a one-way street. Seeing the oncoming traffic and fearing a head-on collision, she made a sudden turn to the right into the building construction area. Her Toyota Camry went through a chain link fence and into a utility trench, pinning a 57-year-old worker from Yuba City. He was freed by medical personnel and transported to Mercy Hospital with serious injuries. Nearby Redding Police Officers witnessed the crash.
