A pedestrian was killed in the middle of the night in the middle of Interstate Five south of Yreka. At 12:14AM Tuesday, a 9-1-1 caller reported a man wearing shorts and no shirt on Southbound I-5 north of Grenada. Before CHP Officers could get there, a Kenworth tractor-trailer came along in the slow lane and the man walked directly into its path. The man was thrown into the air and landed in the fast lane, where a Toyota Prius ran over him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
