Harley-Davidson motorcycles will soon be a thing of the past for the Redding Police Department. The motor units are switching to BMW motorcycles. Because of a BMW production delay due to the pandemic, officers are using some of their electric motorcycles during the interim. The electric motorcycles were purchased for the department by Redding Electric Utility using state grant money from cap-and-trade proceeds.
