Resident Suffers Burns In North Redding House Fire

A house was destroyed by fire in North Redding Monday. Redding Fire was called at around 2 O’clock to a Lake Boulevard home just north of Oasis Road. Initially it was reported that two people were trapped inside. One resident with burns to their arms was outside when firefighters arrived and they did a thorough search before learning there was no second victim. The burned person was hospitalized. The fire took a long time to extinguish, according to Battalion Chief Mike Sawyer. The $150,000 home was a complete loss, along with an estimated $20,000 worth of belongings. The cause was determined to be from smoking.
