A dead man found in a car submerged in the Sacramento River in South Redding last week has been identified by the Shasta County Coroners Office as 32-year-old Shannon Jay Robinson of Redding. Redding Police were called to the South Bonnyview Bridge at 2 O’clock Friday morning. A car had left the roadway near the bridge and was upside down in the water and difficult to access. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Dive Team was called and they went down and found Robinson’s body. It took several hours to get the car out of the river. The circumstances are under investigation by Redding Police.
