Man Rescued From The Sacramento River After Jumping Off The North Market Street Bridge

A man was rescued from the Sacramento River Wednesday afternoon, apparently against his will. The man had jumped from the North Market Street Bridge. By the time Boating Safety Deputies and Redding Police got there for the rescue, the jumper had floated all the way downriver past the Sundial Bridge. He resisted help at first, and then was too cold for his hands to get a grip on throw lines. Officers and deputies were eventually able to reach in the water and pull him into the boat. The unidentified man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
