Evacuation Warnings Issued For McFarland Fire Near Wildwood

A number of fires have been sparked by lightning across several North State counties. The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office issued an evacuation warning for the Wildwood area due to the McFarland fire that is burning in the Shasta Trinity National Forest. The warning was issued Friday morning for the Wildwood area. The warning was issued for the area on the south end of Deerlick Springs Road, and on both sides of Highway 36. The fire is burning south of Wildwood, and as of Friday morning it had burned about 100 acres with just 3% containment.

The Rush Fire that is burning in the Trinity Alps is estimated at under an acre, and the Forest Service says smoke jumpers are working the fire.

In the the Klamath National Forest, two lightning fire have each burned less than half an acre.

The Evans Fire in the Plumas National Forest has burned 45 acres. Crews have built line and tied the head of the fire into the Dixie Fire.
