Redding Police say a stabbing Thursday morning left a 19-year-old man with a wound to his abdomen. Officers were called about 9:15AM after 19-year-old Patrick Dover called 911 to report he had stabbed an acquaintance after a fight in the 1000 block of Denton Drive. Officers found 19-year-old Cort Armstrong with a knife wound to his abdomen. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and is expected to recover. Officers spoke with Dover and he was taken in for questioning. Dover initially stated the stabbing was in self defense after an argument became physical. Investigators spoke with witnesses and they said the stabbing was not in self defense. Dover was booked into Shasta County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.
