Father & Son Rescued From Sacramento River

A man and his 5-year-old son were rescued from the Sacramento River Tuesday after heir kayak overturned near the Riverview Golf Course. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Boating Safety Unit, the Redding Fire Department, and the California Highway Patrol were called to the scene just before 4:30PM when 33-year-old Brian Bisetti called 911. He told dispatchers that he and his son were standing in waist deep water just below the Wyndham Ripple in the middle of the river. Both were wearing life jackets and he was holding his son out of the water. They had left the Posse Grounds at about 3PM, and were headed to the Bonnyview Boat Ramp when they took on water and began to sink. They bailed out and floated down river until they got to an area where he was able to stand. Both were rescued unharmed. The boat was retrieved by fisherman.
