A trucker from Grants Pass,Oregon was murdered at the truck stop on Knighton Road. At One O’clock Friday afternoon the Shasta County Sheriffs Office was asked to check on the welfare of 64-year-old Rick Michael Forbes because he hadn’t checked in with his company or his family. Deputies and medical personnel found Forbes’ big rig parked at the T.A. Truck Stop, and they found Forbes dead inside. Detectives have not released the cause of death or the circumstances, but they say the death has been ruled a homicide due to the manner in which he was found. No suspect has not been identified. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact he sheriff’s office. Forbes had arrived at the truck stop after 11 O’clock Thursday night.
