A man was shot and killed off of Bechelli Lane Wednesday night. Redding Police released information about the incident Friday morning. At 11:16PM Wednesday a 9-1-1 caller reported shots fired in the area of 3032 Bechelli Lane. The building houses Pluto’s Car Stereos and Don’s Sandwich Shop. When officers arrived 15 minutes after the call they found 67-year-old Edwin Charles Phillips suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital, where he was declared dead. The case is being investigated as a homicide but no information on a suspect or possible motive has been released.
