Woman Arrested After Bizarre Incident At Truck Stop

A Redding woman was arrested after her failed and damaging attempts to get out of the truck stop on Knighton Road. Just before 11:30PM Monday night 37-year-old Hanna Magee was in an argument with employees of the TA Truck Stop before she stormed out of the store and got into her 1990 Honda Accord with her son in the passenger seat. She was reportedly reckless as she tried to rip out of the parking lot and lost control of the Honda, ramming it into a car that was at the gas pumps. The owner of that car was pumping gas at the time and he got pinned between his car and the pump. Other customers helped free him. Meanwhile Magee wanted more than ever to leave but her car was too damaged to be driveable. That apparently didn’t stop her from trying though, as numerous bystanders tried to stop her. One of them was injured when she backed the car into his leg. He and the man at the pump were both taken to Mercy Hospital with minor injuries. The crowd was not able to detain Magee and her son and they ran away towards the other side of the freeway. CHP Officers found them a short time later climbing out of some bushes about a quarter mile away off Riverland Drive. Magee was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and booked into jail on several felony charges.
