A fire scare at the post office in Downtown Redding Thursday morning turned out to be on the exterior. At around 5:40AM Redding Fire was called to the post office for a smell of burning plastic. Employees feared an electrical fire because of recent work that was done. When firefighters arrived they quickly located a transient campfire right in front of the building.
