Man Sentenced For Exploiting Young Girls

An Anderson man is going to prison for using fear to coerce pornographic selfie images from juvenile victims on social media. In April of last year Anderson Police were told by investigators in Illinois that they had followed an electronic trail that led to now-30-year-old Darren Michael Brown. 2 months later a search warrant served at brown’s home led to the seizure of various computers, smart phones, laptops, pads, and flash drives. The materials were turned over to homeland security for forensic analysis and last September they sent back thousands of explicit photos and videos of underage victims. Many of the victims were tracked down and interviewed and they said Brown had threatened them to get the sexually explicit images. He was initially charged with 17 related felonies but reached a plea deal in September, dropping that to 10 counts including committing lewd acts against children. Brown was sentenced Monday to 5 years in prison.
