Apartment Fire Called Suspicious

The blaze broke out at a 2 story complex on Wilson Avenue off Shasta View at around 5:30. The residents of the apartment where it started had apparently had a falling out with a former roommate, who left the scene just 20 or 30 minutes before they became aware that the building was on fire, according to Redding Fire Investigator Craig Wittner. He says there was some possible nefarious activity as the previous tenant was on his way out and yelling insults at the female resident. At last word, Wittner was waiting to speak with the former roommate. The fire started in the garage and spread upstairs. It was halted before causing any structural damage, but there was extensive smoke and water damage to the apartment and adjoining units.
