Keith Papini Reveals Details, Asks for Privacy

The husband of a Mountain Gate woman released by kidnappers last week has released a statement thanking the public for their concern, providing more details about the ordeal, and asking for privacy during the healing process. 34-year-old Sherri Papini was gone for 3 weeks after vanishing November 2nd while jogging near her Sunrise Drive home. She was released by her captors very early Thanksgiving morning near Interstate 5 in Yolo County. Keith Papini says she had a chain around her waist attached to her wrists, and a bag over her head. After wriggling a hand free she used the bag to flag someone down for help. Keith says she had been starved and was only 87 pounds, her hair was cut off, her nose was broken, she was covered in bruises, burns, rashes and chain marks, and she had actually been branded. Keith’s statement condemns the many malicious rumors that have been spread by people who don’t even know the family, but he expresses deep gratitude for the many strangers who have offered unconditional support. The motive for the abduction has not been revealed. Secret Witness is still offering a $10,000 reward for anonymous tips about the suspects at 243-2319 or scsecretwitness.com. The only description Sherri could provide is two Hispanic women armed with a handgun in a dark-colored SUV.
