Some tight contests from the November 8th election have been determined.
— Shasta County District 3 Supervisor challenger Mary Rickert has defeated incumbent Pam Giacomini.
— Steve Morgan has won the District 4 Supervisor seat from incumbent Bill Schappell.
— The 3 open seats on the Anderson City Council have gone to Stan Neutze and incumbents Melissa Hunt and Suzie Baugh.
— The 2 open seats on the Redding City Council have gone to Julie Winter and Adam McElvain.
— Cottonwood will at long last get a new fire hall with the passage of a bond measure.
— The school bonds needed 55% and the Shasta College and Shasta High School District bonds barely squeaked by. Measure H will provide $139 million to the college, which they’ll use to build a regional public safety training facility, a veterans support center, a career technical education facility and a Tehama student services building. The cost to property owners will be about $19 annually per $100,000 of assessed value.
County Clerk Cathy Darling-Allen says 82,426 ballots were cast in Shasta County, which is nearly 81% of registered voters.
