Victim Stabbed in Neck by Shasta Lake Robber

A man was stabbed during a mugging in the City of Shasta Lake Tuesday night. It was around 6 o’clock when 28-year-old Tyler Koenecke was confronted by a man on Grand Coulee Avenue. The man brandished a knife and demanded money. After getting the cash the robber tried to run away but Koenecke struggled with him and the man stabbed him in the neck. Koenecke walked to Shasta Dam Boulevard and flagged down a RABA bus. He was sitting in the bus when deputies arrived. They searched the area with Koenecke’s description of the attacker and located 20-year-old Carl Stuart Jr near the Dollar Tree. He started walking away from deputies and he was ordered to stop, and then he ran. He was caught after a brief foot chase. Koenecke was treated at a hospital for his stab wound, and later released.
