Two men from Redding were arrested after a chase in the Red Bluff area Monday, according to the Red Bluff Daily News. A Tehama County Deputy on patrol spotted a stolen Honda Civic on Nicklaus Avenue and was assisting in its recovery when he became suspicious of a different Honda that kept driving around slowly in the area. When he decided to follow the second Honda, it took off at high speed and the chase was on. During the pursuit the deputy ran the license plate and learned the car had been stolen out of Chico. The Honda eventually crashed off Interstate 5 near Wilcox Road and both occupants tried to escape on foot, but they were captured. 23-year-old Nicholas William Hunt and 21-year-old John Eldon Wood Jr., both of Redding, were booked into jail.
