The Shasta County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a Shasta County man who was killed in a rollover crash just east of Bella Vista Friday afternoon. 26-year-old Nocona Wilson was behind the wheel of a 1986 Chevy Camaro with a still-unidentified 19-year-old woman in the passenger seat. They were headed west on Highway 299 approaching Old Alturas Road at an unknown speed when the car veered to the left and went off the south side of the road. Neither of the occupants was wearing a seltbelt and as the car rolled over they were both ejected. Wilson died at the scene and the passenger was transported to Mercy Hospital with major injuries. The CHP is investigating whether drugs or alcohol were involved. Any witnesses are asked to contact the CHP.
