A stolen Honda Civic has been returned to its rightful owner after routine patrol of the Anderson Wal-Mart parking lot. Anderson Police say that officers noticed the freshly painted vehicle Friday night at about 11:50PM. After a records check the license plate was determined to be stolen from the San Jose area in 2012. The vehicle itself was reported stolen from the Wal-Mart parking lot in Redding earlier Friday evening. After another officer arrived as backup and as the suspects left the store to return to the vehicle, arrests were made. 23-year-old Nicholas William Hunt of Redding, and passenger 21-year-old Angelica Renee Gilchirst of Anderson were detained. Both suspects were found to have multiple shaved vehicle keys, drugs, credit cards, and stolen drivers licenses and registrations. Hunt was found to be on probation for prior vehicle theft.
