The holiday season is a time for family and friends to get together and celebrate. The CHP wants everyone to get there safely. A maximum enforcement period begins on Friday at 6PM and will end at Midnight on Monday. All available officers will be on the roads this weekend looking for impaired drivers and those who are not buckled up, or talking on a cell phone.Last year 35 people died on the roadways of California during the Christmas holiday, and 700 arrests were made for DUI. New years weekend will also be a maximum enforcement period.
