Murder Trial Expected To Wrap Up Next Week

The trial of Ralf Reuschel is coming to a close next week. The 63-year-old man is accused of killing a relative and dumping his body in French Gulch. The body of 33-year-old Timothy Arron Mitchell was discovered in May of last year in an old shallow mining pit off of Cline Gulch Road about a mile and a half from Trinity Mountain Road. He was identified through fingerprints. He had arrived in Redding April 24th and stayed with Reuschel and his wife at the Premier RV Resort on North Boulder Drive in Redding. Sheriff’s office investigators say that on the early morning of April 29th Reuschel and Mitchell had a dispute at the RV park that ended with Mitchell dead of a gunshot. His body was apparently kept in the RV for several days before Reuschel hauled him out to French Gulch to dump him. Closing arguments in the trial are set for next Wednesday.
