State Releases Designated Driver App

When a group of drinkers piles into a car with a sober person behind the wheel, there may be many suggestions about where to go next, but the decision ultimately lies with the driver. More and more Redding area bars and restaurants are realizing the benefits of attracting designated sober drivers, according to Redding Police. A mobile app has been launched by the California Office of Traffic Safety that makes it easy to find establishments that offer rewards for designated drivers. From a business standpoint it makes a lot of sense: pamper the sober person and reap the profits from their drinking friends. The app can provide a list of participating locations or it can fix on a users location and provide a map. The app can be downloaded at ots.ca.gov.
