The Superintended of the Lassen Volcanic National Park has announced he is retiring. Steve Gibbons will leave his job on Saturday the 7th. He has been the parks Superintended since 2014. He has spent 34 years working with the National Park Service and has worked at 28 parks. During his career Gibbons has worked in the hydrology field, resource management, and law enforcement. He has worked to protect endangered species and to protect the nations natural resources. According to Gibbons, career highlights are fun to reminisce about, however he says it is the people, friends, colleagues, partners and the relationships forged that will carry him into retirement.
