Charges Dropped Against Marijuana Grower

A Shasta County pot grower has successfully deflected prosecution after his defense attorney argued against the credibility of the sheriff’s office. On August 10th James Coleman was surprised to see deputies walking into his back yard, and he asked how they got through the locked gate. They said the neighbor had removed the gate for them. The deputies then proceeded to remove 275 mature marijuana plants from the yard and from a warehouse. This apparently was done despite Coleman’s documentation as a supplier for a medical marijuana collective. The deputies apparently did the search without a warrant. All charges have been dropped and Coleman’s attorney is working on a civil rights lawsuit against Shasta County.
