Woman Finds 2 Cars On Fire In Front Of Home

A West Redding woman is puzzled about why someone would want to harm her family. At around 5 O’clock Wednesday morning she was getting ready for work and walked outside her 8th Street home to start her car. She went back inside but a few minutes later she smelled gas. She checked all her appliances looking for the source and then opened her front door and saw a burn mark was on the outside of it. That was disturbing enough that she called police. A few minutes after that she heard a noise and looked out her window to see that both cars in front of her house were on fire. She called 9-1-1 again and Redding Firefighters came and finished the job she had started with a large fire extinguisher. A burning gas can was found under one of the cars, which was taken as part of the Redding Fire Department arson investigation. With no apparent enemies and no leads, the life-long Redding resident and her small family are on edge and unsettled as they wonder why someone would do such a thing.
