LaMalfa Assigned To Transportation Committee

North State Congressman Doug LaMalfa has gotten his committee assignments for the newly seated House of Representatives. He’ll continue to serve on the Agriculture Committee, which oversees policy on the production of food, fiber and timber products, as well as the Natural Resources Committee, which deals with energy production, mineral lands and mining, fisheries and wildlife, public lands, oceans, native americans, irrigation and reclamation. LaMalfa’s new assignment is the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, which has jurisdiction over aviation, maritime transportation, highways, bridges, mass transit and railroads. It also oversees disasters and environmental regulations. LaMalfa says he’ll use his committee positions to influence decisions on water storage, flood control and forestry management.
