Although many Redding residents are likely unaware that the city has a flag, the city council will consider changing it at Tuesday’s meeting. The current design is the round City of Redding logo featuring the famous “3 Shasta’s” image, which shows Shasta Dam with Lake Shasta and Mount Shasta in the background. As iconic as those 3 landmarks may be, none of them are in Redding. The logo is used on city letterhead, signage, uniforms and some vehicles. The new design is a simple stylized image of the Sundial Bridge on a field of green and blue.There aren’t very many of the flags in use and replacement of them would run about $2500.
