Re-Trial Set For Man Accused Of Attempted Kidnapping

Following a mistrial due to a hung jury in November, a man will stand trial again for an alleged kidnapping attempt of two little kids. On August 7th the 8-year-old boy and girl were trying sell rocks to passersby in front of their home on Kenyon Drive in South Redding. 55-year-old Keith Brian Henry stopped in his red BMW and bought some of their rocks. He returned a short time later and allegedly tried to lure them into his car with candy, toys and plastic flowers. A neighbor confronted henry and he left. A short time later he was found in the City of Shasta Lake and identified by a witness. Henry turned down an offer of a plea bargain that would given him an 18 month sentence. If he’s found guilty of attempted kidnapping he faces a sentence of nearly 5 years. A fresh jury will be seated for henry’s re-trial this week.
