Redding is a quickly growing city, according to an interesting measure used by U-haul. The company’s “Growth Cities” report measures human migration by counting how many one-way truck rentals come into town and comparing the number with how many one way truck rentals are leaving town. According to those numbers, Redding ranks number 6 in growth for cities with a population of more than 50,000. Redding saw a 15% increase in one-way truck arrivals compared to 2015, while departures dropped by 3%. Number one on the growth list is Madison, Wisconsin followed by Austin, Boise, San Francisco and Manhattan. The data is compiled from more than 21,000 U-haul locations.
