Siskiyou County officials believe the body of a missing Yreka man may have been found many miles away. 79-year-old Trygve “Karl” Larson has a home in a Yreka-area trailer park and is known to go for frequent walks in the country around Yreka. On the morning of January 19th Larson’s family reported they hadn’t seen or heard from him in four days. Larson is considered “at risk” for various reasons. The search and rescue effort had been centered on the Greenhorn Park area just outside Yreka, but Thursday a body was pulled out of the Sacramento River in Red Bluff. Although it appeared the body had been in the water for several days, it matched the description of Larson and several indicators point to it being him. The body will be positively identified, and hopefully a cause of death can be determined, when an autopsy is performed next week.
