Update: Two Robbers Killed In Corning Home Invasion

The two men killed during a home invasion west of Corning Monday morning were the robbers, according to the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office, and the residents who shot them are missing. Deputies were called just after 10AM on a report of an attempted carjacking at a home at the west end of Rancho Tehama Road. Deputies arrived to find 38-year-old Moises Salgado Farias lying dead in the front yard, apparently having been shot by someone from inside the house. Witnesses said there had been an attempted home invasion that was repelled by the armed residents of the home. There were two other robbers, and they showed up at a Chevron Station on Solano Street in Corning in a pickup truck. The driver, whose identity is unknown, took off running from the scene before deputies got there. The other man stumbled into the store and collapsed with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was taken by ambulance to Enloe Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released. Witnesses in Rancho Tehama said that after the shots were fired the two men who live at the house fled and the sheriff’s office has been looking for them. It’s believed they may have been injured in what apparently was a shootout. The investigation continues.and no arrests have been made.
